How did you get into foiling, and SUP downwinding?

I got introduced to the ocean by my parents when I was about 10 and it pretty much changed everything. From then on, I just wanted to follow my dad and be on the water as much as possible, riding anything I could. I started with SUP, then got into kiteboarding, then surfing, but foiling was always there through my family. As the gear’s progressed, I’ve naturally gravitated more and more toward it, and now it’s a big part of what I do both in the water and with design.

What do you do before getting in the water? 

I love the hype before a session, talking with friends, watching the conditions build, and getting everyone fired up to get out there. Phones are going, messages are flying, and we’re lining up the best possible run. Setting up a good session is all part of it.

Tell us about your best memory on the water.

It would have to be my first-ever session. I still vividly remember being down on the beach on a warm, sunny, calm day with a massive board and small waves. I remember catching a wave and running the board all the way into the sand not wanting it to end.

Worst wipeout? 

The worst wipeouts are usually the ones where I push a bit too far and get reminded by the ocean. They’re never fun, but they’re always a good reset.

Who would you like to say thank you to? 

Always my parents first; they introduced me to the ocean and set everything in motion. And to everyone who’s helped me along the way and opened doors for me, I’m incredibly grateful. A big thank you as well to F-ONE for believing in me and supporting what I do.

What are some of your aspirations for the future?

I’m really driven by design and want to keep pushing the limits of downwind foiling, both in how the equipment performs and how it’s ridden. At the same time, I’m more than motivated to keep progressing my competitive career.
