Proweld
PROWELD is a unique and revolutionary process technology that Ralf Grösel has patented and developed himself.
With PROWELD, segments are ultrasonically welded together seamlessly at one point and then glued on the back to increase the structural rigidity of the joint.
With all the segments of the leading edge welded rather than stitched, it creates a stiffer frame with better structural integrity, while also saving weight and reducing the stress on the bladder inside. This leads to a super precise bar feedback and astounding reactivity from the kite.
The big advantages of the PROWELD method:
- The diagonal stiffness of the Dacron is much higher than with conventional stitching, leading to greater reactivity in each maneuver.
- Increase in the overall stiffness of the kite (+25% increased torsional stiffness)
- Saves weight as less material is required for this type of seam (-15% weight compared to conventional seam construction)
