For this new edition of the SHADOW, we have kept all the qualities of the existing board and made it a little faster with even more control.
Deeper concave on the bottom
This year, the SHADOW features a slightly deeper concave on the bottom in the area between the front and back feet. This flat section in the rocker has been carved a little deeper to increase the speed and planning potential of the board. The board thus carries more speed and feels even more at ease in a larger variety of waves. This new SHADOW will surprise you with its acceleration potential in the turns, effortlessly projecting you to the next move or the next section.
Thinner rails
The rails are sharper and thinner toward the tail as well, allowing for better control and crispier turns.
New graphic design
The new graphic design of the SHADOW is a nod to the board’s assertive nature, tailored to charge big waves and barrels. The predominantly clear color takes cues from traditional surfboards and is accentuated with an ombré towards the tail and paint splashes, recalling the surf spray of aggressive turns. This design choice hence pays homage to the board’s functionality while capturing the thrill of riding the waves and treacherous barrels.
Its shape and round pintail continue to offer the best glide and a maneuverability like no others.
Designed to inspire confidence in every turn and rail-to-rail transfers, the camel deck and its moderate volume deliver the perfect amount of control.
The kicktail design of the pad provides improved grip on the back foot and delivers better maneuverability and precision in every movement.
The arch bar in the front of the pad brings better control on the front foot and during jumps.
The SHADOW is constructed using the HD Foam Flex Composite technology, with optimized flex for maximum reliability, comfort, and maneuverability.
This construction in turn results in a lighter weight and a perfect, classic surfboard feel.
All in all, this new SHADOW is still terribly efficient and intuitive to ride; this year offering a bit more speed and unmatched control as always.
It handles speed exceptionally well and loves to make long carves just as much as super snappy turns.
